Drip Drip Drip

When we said our renovations would break the drought - we were trying reverse psychology on Mother Nature. So far I think she's winning.

Makes you wonder why they wrapped the walls like a Christmas tree but left the roof uncovered. The Tarp on the floor does not seem to be coping.

Progress

Wow - its been amazing to see the progress made in only one week. Walls and roof frames are on and we've managed to "walk through" the house!!!
We had one more leak down the main bedroom window wall on Wednesday night, during that really heavy storm. but, no damage, just a lack of sleep because of the noise.

It's Started

The roof started coming off on Wednesday, smack bang on 7 am. Everything has been going amazingly fast with surprising ease. No surprises then when the carpenter cut through the main power line at 2.45pm on Friday afternoon, narrowly missing becoming the fried chippie, but ensuring there was panic in the house about watching the twenty20 game of cricket that evening! We have wonderful neighbours who let us borrow some power for the night via a LONG extension cord, before the electrician and Energy Australia came out this morning at 8am to fix everything.
There was only one leak after the storm last night - in the part of the house where the roof hadn't been removed. Anyway, I am hoping that's the worst and we have survived it. Now the wall frames are due on Tuesday.
Finger's crossed!

The Countdown begins

I don't believe it! We had a meeting with the builders today and they will start removing our roof within 7-10 days.

Good-bye 7am wake-ups and parking space, hello people on our roof and lots of dust. A "before" shot of our modest 1950's home.

Sprung

Yes, our garden finally looks half decent with plenty of flowers - spring has sprung!!!
Just don't ask what is happening with the house - we'd like to know too.
