Missy Moo & I had a lovely time with my parents & brother down the South Coast for my cousin's 21st birthday party. The holiday house in which we stayed was located in a gorgeous spot..... - Guerilla Bay.

We are nearly done. The builders have finished and all we need to do is some more external painting, the new front door and pave the front porch. Now, of course, the downstairs areas look like they need a lot more work.

Proud as Punch

Our little rugby player got "Man of the Match" this week! He was so proud of himself & his 3 tries. Now we just have to get him to learn to pass the ball.

Another shot where Susan has made my kids look good (if a little cheeky). Why is that they are always much better behaved for other people?

At 92, he still gets along the route for the march, and shakes just about every person's hand.

Progress in Inches

Finally the ground floor rendering is done- now we just have to wait 3 more weeks before it can be painted. Inside all we have to go is some patching, painting (by Andrew), wardrobes & shower screens. The carpet is ordered to be laid on 18th May. So close....

Who likes Rugby?

The young boy who scored 4 'tries'!!! It is so well set up for them to learn and to just have fun. The state of his uniform after 2 games on muddy fields is another matter.

Getting closer

It seems we are getting closer every day, but progress is slowing the closer we get.

The bathrooms upstairs just need sanding, paint & shower screens. The bedrooms just need sanding, painting, wardrobes, carpet & window coverings. Downstairs needs window edges finished then rendering. Lets not talk about all the painting Andrew has to do, it makes him scared!

Autumn Arrival

What a lovely surprise in our front yard.

Tiles on the inside

It's amazing how much nicer a bathroom looks with tiles instead of the green waterproofing. Now we just need the fittings to go in next week. Fingers crossed there are no issues!

The outside

As of last week we have colorbond on the ground floor roof. Much nicer than the tiles. Now we just have to have the windows replaced & the ground floor rendered for the outside to be done. That would have been achieved more quickly if the window supplier had not incorrectly entered the measurements into the computer. They have to take back nine useless windows....
Andrew is also happy that they have taken the surplus supplies away and let his grass breathe again (well it used to be grass anyway).

Big Swim

We did it! A team consisting of my Dad, friends Campbell & Brian, & myself made it - we swam 19.7km in a relay from Cottesloe Beach to Rottnest Island in WA. We took 8 hrs & 24 minutes and feel right proud of ourselves.
When I can get some pictures that don't show us looking utterly shattered & in cossies, I'll post them.
It was one of the most challenging physical things I've done (apart from having children) and very rewarding. Thankfully (??) the last 1.5 km was against the current and I can safely say it has ensured I will never want to do it again.

Stairway to....... more space!

Maybe now they can get upstairs more easily we'll see even more progress.

On the inside

More has happened on the inside over the last 2 weeks, and it is hard to show. We now have the ducting for the air-con (wish it was working) and all the gyp-rock installed. This week the roof on the ground floor will apparently be replaced. Of course, rain is predicted all week.

Happy Birthday 6 yr old!

Everyone had a ball. I can highly recommend Northbridge baths for a kids party in summer! Thanks to Susan for the lovely pictures again.

Work Recommences

This week the builders came back & rendered the top floor, as well as cutting a hole in the ceiling for the stairs. Why does it rain each time they cut something else open?

Its not easy to fit the belongings of two spoilt children into one room. Its even more difficult to get them to go to sleep when they are sharing that same room...
